En route there is the opportunity to stop at an Argan Oil Co-operative. This area of Morocco is the only area where argan tress naturally grow. The argan tree fruits have nuts, the oil from their kernals being rich in argan oil. This valued oil is used for both cosmetic and culinary use.
As you travel ever westwards, you may spot some goats in the upper branches of the argan trees, eating the leaves and the fruits, especially when ground pasture is lacking.
Once in Essaouira, the options include:-
Exploring the medina and the bustling souks with their many shops and cafes;
Walk the ramparts of the old sea wall defences; good coastal geography processes and forms
Take time by the harbour to see a lively fishing industry
Take leisure time-in the wide and extensive promenade beside the huge beach
A lunch can be part of your day (not yet included; can be added at a supplementary cost).
Return to Marrakech*.
*NOTE: You might want to consider spending a night in Essaouira and returning to Marrakech the following day; please ask if this is of interest to you.
